Credit Card Payments
ACCEPTED FOR TAX PAYMENTS ONLY
In the Fall 2010 Newsletter we reported Erie Township had entered into an agreement with Point and Pay LLC which provides E-Payment Services and we would be accepting credit or debit card payments for property taxes beginning the first of the year. Unfortunately it took longer to set up the process than anticipated and the service was not available until early February and also the Visa debit card with the flat fee was not set up and made available until winter tax season was completed. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are happy to report all types of credit and debit card payments will be available for the Summer 2011 tax season. You will have the options of paying online through a link on our website, pay by phone, or at the counter at the township hall. The convenience fees for this service are as follows:
· With a credit card from $.01 up to $100.00 $3.00
· With a credit card from $100.01-$99,999.00 3% of transaction amount
· With an eCheck - flat fee of $3.00
· With a Visa Debit Card - flat fee of $3.95
Please note that only Visa Debit cards fall under the $3.95 flat fee. All other debit cards are accepted but are subject to the 3% transaction fee. Many residents have been asking for this service for some time and we hope you find this to be a convenient alternative. We are sorry that at this time we cannot offer this method of payment for other services.
